Not yet

It was so cold the woollen blankets

Had to be brought down from the loft
The sweaters fished out from the stack
Of infrequently used clothes once much
Fancied but soon found out of favour
It was so cold the unwiped fans stopped,
To stare at us accusingly for falling behind
In our weekly housekeeping schedule
Interrupted by the climacteric disturbances
It was so cold we decided to savour it
Like on a hill station where we go just to
Shiver in this kind of weather and pay for,
With no wind the mild rain fell silently and
The cold seeping in from roof and wall said
''I come from seas you've never seen."
"You're colder every year", we told him
"You're older but can't stop you yet."
