Eternity

Will we trade known pleasures

For an unknown heaven?
Not to grow old will be a curse
As that hurled on Narcissus
If there were no darkness or night
Will the dawn or daylight be as welcome?
Imagine a yearlong spring without winter
To make us ache for what has left us
Let time not stand still as on a Grecian urn
Let it take us past all the four seasons
Let us rejoice and rebel and weep and mourn
So when the crackers are burst to send us off
There will be little left to stay back for.
